Salt Crusted Tri-Tip
Probably
one of the easiest and best preparations of meat, this
recipes works particularly well with tri-tip cuts of
steak, but just about any cut could substitute.
Tri-tip
strips (fat removed)
Rock Salt
Egg whites (optional)
Instructions:
Simply roll and cover strips of tri-tip in generous
amounts of rock salt. Broil (or even grill) to medium
rare. Remove rock salt (shake and brush off). Slice
and serve.
Alternatively,
you could mix the rock salt with egg whites (from 1
or 2 eggs) before applying the mixture to the steak.
This creates a more firm and well-formed crust.
